Annadel Melendez

Annadel Melendez is a bilingual licensed clinical social worker who specializes in working with children and youth of all ages, and provides services in Spanish or English. Annadel received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Annadel has experience in working with children in school settings at all age levels. Issues she treats include, but are not limited to: anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, anger, grief, divorce, school issues, self-esteem and executive functioning.

Annadel utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches, including strength-based, trauma-focused, solution-focused, and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) while maintaining techniques that are developmentally appropriate through therapeutic games and curriculums. Annadel’s mission is to empower and advocate for diverse children with compassion and cultural humility. Drawing from her nine years of experience, she strives to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where children feel valued and supported.

Annadel grew up in Chicago and enjoys lots of time with family in her free time. Annadel enjoys listening to music, dancing and playing, both on and off work. Annadel draws from her Mexican and Honduran roots and experience when working with clients and while being with her 2 daughters.
