Tami Namey

MSW, LCSW

Tami is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in Eating Disorders and trauma. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in English from Dickinson College and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Tami has experience in a variety of settings, starting her work in an inpatient psychiatric unit, then at a large outpatient clinic, which led her to build this private practice.

After several years of working in the Eating Disorder field, Tami sought and completed EMDR training to better help people recover from significant trauma. Tami’s approach to therapy is to focus on clients’ strengths while working together to reach clients’ goals. She utilizes a variety of treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Intuitive Eating, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and Relational Therapy. Tami believes in individualizing treatment to the unique needs of each client.

Tami grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and still loves going home to spend time with her family there. When not at work, Tami enjoys spending time with her son, her dogs, and her family and friends. Whether it’s hiking in the woods, skiing the slopes, or walking the beach, Tami loves all things outdoors and nurtures that part of herself whenever she gets the chance.
